How it all came to be…
Richard’s approach
Teaching in-school and privately has allowed Richard to develop a fun and flexible approach to teaching that keeps young learners engaged and able to progress at playing guitar.
Richard is currently working with children from age 7 upwards.
As well as being a fun and creative hobby, learning guitar gives children a new outlet to express themselves with. Wether working towards an exam or performance, or just playing for fun, the sense of achievement encourages children to progress further. Of course, it also provides them with a new way to show off to their friends and family!

Specialist guitar tuition
To enable learners to play and recognise their favourite songs, Richard likes to simplify the music to, for example, single notes or simple chords. Learning such a song provides the learner with the motivation to practice and develop their skills and repertoire further.
Short and regular lessons have proved to be most beneficial to the progression of young learners. Click for more info on 30 minute and 45 minute guitar lessons.
